Name of the course: Safeguarding and Protecting children workshop Purpose of the course: Learn to protect yourself, the young people you are coaching and your employer by understanding and following good coaching practice. Name of the course: Team Manager Training and Development Programme Purpose of the course: To equip volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge to undertake a Team Manager role either during local competitions or for overnight stays and travels abroad. Name of the course: Equity in your coaching Purpose of the course: Everyone should have access to sport, regardless of gender, age, race, ability, faith or sexual orientation. As a coach, you have an important role to play in ensuring this happens. The workshop will help you to apply and extend your existing skills to meet the needs of present and potential participants. Name of the course: Time to Listen Purpose of the course: The ASA has linked up with the NSPCC and is accredited to deliver the ‘Time to Listen’ module that is aimed at Club Welfare Officers (CWO’s). Whilst it is appreciated that some CWO’s will be trained and experienced in child protection issues, the Time to Listen programme provides the opportunity to consider the roles and responsibilities of CWO’s and the action taken should any incident occur.
